Pehli Kiran Schools (PKS) Collaborates with Cities For Children to Counter Learning Losses Amid COVID-19 School Closures

Pehli Kiran Schools (PKS) is pleased to announce a shared venture of Cities For Children and PKS. Seekho Sikhao Saathi Program (SSSP) is initiated in direct response to the learning losses faced during the school closures. Cities for Children is resourcing and providing base materials for PKS to deliver across the system.

A step to reimagine education for unprivileged and disadvantaged children.

Cities for Children (CfC) recognize and support the specific needs of children in urban areas, in the realms of child protection and education. Their mission is to work with existing schools and shelter homes – particularly in urban and peri-urban slums – to build them as spaces that offer the “right to read,” the “right to play” as well as the “right to feel safe.”

Pehli Kiran Schools develop bridges for the marginalized, poorest, and forgotten children by giving free education. PKS considers a ‘whole child’ approach in its educational philosophy, instilling confidence and providing character education by exposure to activities and positive role models and positive experiences.

Please consider donating to our Seekho Sikhao Saath Program to ensure Learning Never Stops for children who live in extreme urban poverty.
